Stay with me. Winter Arc is a term coined by Gen Z. It was used for 120 days starting on September 1st to the end of December to lock in intensely into fitness. It has taken on a more adaptive, malleable, and broader concept expanding to personal growth, goals, self improvement, and developing healthy habits to wrap up your year. It’s also more diverse now as in you don’t have to be so INTENSE and more so just consistent. You don’t have to focus on 10 things. You can focus on 1 thing or 3 things. And for me, the one thing I don’t need is more pressure on myself given the type of year I am having. Same for many others!
This can be great to help you fine tune some areas or to say, “You know what, I wasn’t able to post YouTube videos like I wanted to this year. Let me, for the last 120 days or late fall to winter (you can do 90 days or start tomorrow or next week) post 3 videos a week.” This is just an example. You can insert anything from fitness to your blog to spiritual growth. You wrap up the year on good energy and positive vibes towards a goal or plan. It could literally be anything.
You aggressively or intently block out anything that may distract you from your goal the next 90 to 120 days.
Don’t over promise to yourself.
Make it a challenge but not so much you set yourself up for failure.
I know I am not in a writing mood as far as my next book is concerned. I have already committed back to 15 minutes a week. I am not going to pick this for my 120 days to do everyday because I am not there mentally. But the 15 minutes a week gives me hope. Also, I am a busy adult with responsibilities. I am not going to list 10 things for a 120 day challenge. So, think about something you are currently doing you might want to focus on or something you didn’t do thus far this year and maybe do that. Some people pick a self help book or take a free course. Whatever it is, go for it!
I am plan on picking 3 things. One thing for me will be focusing on crocheting items for craft fairs and festivals where I sell my work. It’s going on anyway and since I am behind and will be doing less shows (tinge of disappointment) due to my situation, I may as well hone in. The second thing is a 10 minute walk after dinner on top of my regular exercise at least 3 times a week. I don’t know why this is so hard for me to do!!!! UGH!!! But it is. I haven’t decided if there will be a third thing yet.
So, are you thinking about doing this? Do you think it’s a good idea? Have you heard of it?
