Hallowed Be This Time of Loss or Suffering

I was sitting here staring at this blank page and “hallowed be thy name” popped into my head. Hallowed. What does that mean? Hallow is derived from the Old English/Greek (hagiazo), it means to make holy, sanctify, or consecrate. I am looking out to the porch from the iron door and it is pouring down rain. Seems like bad weather or unfavorable weather to be in or driving in. Seems like unfavorable weather as the neighbors’ trash and other debri floats down the street. Trash-floating down the street. Plants being watered that can handle the downpour and some that can’t as I pull some of my potted plants under the carport.

May this season of your life be hallowed. May your difficult times be hallowed. May your good times, flow, favorable times be hallowed, too. May your hurt, heartaches, breaks, grief or suffering be hallowed.

And may what needs to be washed away be washed away. May what needs to be pulled in for protection or ‘that’s enough” be pulled in and protected. And may the parts of you that can handle the saturation eventually produce growth, life, vibrancy, and a beautiful change from seed to shoots to plant to eternal blooms.
