I was created to make WAVES. It’s sort of a new perspective for me more than a new revelation. However, the waves I make need to be made intentionally. I need to make these waves with caution and purpose and not for the sake of popularity or attention, which I have no need for either one. I need the wisdom to know when my waves should be gentle, when my waves should be large rolling waves, and when my waves should be those huge surfer waves. I was created to make waves.
When I was fresh in the ministry, a male minister told me I was controversial. He meant in a negative way. I told him so what. Jesus was controversial. Many of the religious or spiritual leaders were and are controversial in some way or another. And I don’t mean in a negative, attention grabbing way. I mean they don’t think like the norm or the traditional way and it didn’t stop at Jesus. A woman in ministry or in the role of a pastor or spiritual leader is controversial (I know right. They are STILL in this day and age wrongly dividing the WORD of GOD in Christianity and in other religions women have limited roles. What kind of God….you know, never mind. No waves here). So there is that. But I know he meant I don’t follow all of the stuffy rules. I don’t easily conform to traditional ways of thinking and doing things. However, I must admit I don’t mind shaking things up and at other times it scares me to shake things up. I am human, too.
But now I am leaning in on this perspective of making waves. Water that sit stills usually is stagnant. It molds. It becomes stale. It becomes toxic. Not much can live there when it becomes polluted. Much like the organization of many religions and some denominations. But you know, it’s the world fault (sarcasm).
MAKE WAVES. NOT WAR.
