I come to you on a Monday because I wanted to put this out for the week. How about a week of peace and productivity? How does that sound to you? Yeah, it sounds good to me, too. I want to throw in some creativity for myself. I posted it was going to take us being mindful of our thoughts and actions to achieve peace. But it’s going to also take intentionality and action to be productive. Focus and simplicity as well. It’s going to take some time outs for laughter, love, fun, and rest. What I didn’t factor in was the need to regulate emotions.

As I was floating about my peaceful and productive day, I received a phone call that rattled me a bit. My anxiety began to rise and lingered after I hung up. I said to myself, “What am I really feeling? I am feeling fearful. I am feeling nervous.” And then I asked myself why am I feeling this way. “Because what needs to be done makes me nervous about my future. It makes me afraid of the unknown. It makes me think my life will change to recycle what was bad for me and I don’t want that. I don’t want to have others control my day. I love my freedom.” Fear. I feel fear.

So, I began to affirm and to search for more scriptures, words of encouragement to soothe my soul. I am determined to continue my day of peace and productivity, in fact, my week of it. I realize I will be faced with obstacles and I will be regulating my emotions so that I can make wise decisions for me.
