Thinking about the energies of this month, and how it has affected my overall well-being and what I need now in my life, (and maybe you, too) is exceptional care. There is this commercial with a voice that sounds like Morgan Freeman and at the end of the commercial it uses the phrase, “Exceptional Care”. It has been stuck in my head for days and it’s because perhaps I feel as though I need to either be provided with “exceptional care”. Don’t we all deserve it? Shouldn’t we give it to ourselves as much as we give it to others? Is this blog post going to be about the balance of it or the distribution of it to others? I hope not as I mostly freestyle my posts.
Some of us, myself included, tend to care for ourselves in such haphazard ways and without going above and beyond. Yet, we tend to care for others with great intent and concern. Well, I do and if you don’t, I imagine maybe you should. At least, to the ones that deserve your utmost but not in a way that depletes or exhausts you or putting yourself constantly on the backburner. So much so, you forget the pot of your life was on the ire and you burn up (out). Nothing is worse than forgetting you have something on the stove and to rush there and see it burned beyond recognition. Who am I? Where am I going? What happened to all of my hopes, dreams, goals? Who’s upside down life is this? Where did I go off the rails???? And sometimes, unfortunately, a forgotten pot on the stove can burn the whole house down and everything in it and around it. Who are the people we burn down when we are burned out?
Setting the timer helps me to remember I have a pot on the stove or something in the oven. Is this little ding in my spirit of “exceptional care” my timer going off? I don’t know what I am trying to say or what my spirit is trying to say to us except, we deserve some “exceptional” care in our lives. NOW.
