Too many opinions. Too many facts. Too many lies. Too many false narratives. Too many click bates. Too many politicians. Too many world problems that you cannot solve them all. Too many local issues that you cannot solve them all.

Too much news. Too much screen time. Too much scrolling and surfing.

Detach. I know for many it’s not easy and the fact that you can’t go to the bathroom without your phone, ignore a text or notification during dinner, is a huge RED FLAG that you need to detach from it all. You know, for a few days or weeks. You may think having CNN running in the background is not doing anything but, your subconscious picks up the windmill of negative news and widespread drama and trauma flowing through your home. Home. A place of love and peace and rest and joy and laughter.

But you have been feeling crappy lately (more than regular) and you can’t quite put your figure on why. Or worse, you are accustomed to feeling crappy. Everything and everyone bothers you. You have an opinion about everything. You must chime in. You must go toe to toe via the keyboard with a person you have never met. You must respond to everyone and everything. You must create. You must post. You must scroll. Or else.

Or else you will feel out of the loop. Or else you won’t be relevant. Or else, you will lose your likes, sponsors, and mess up the good algorithm you have figured out. Ah….you are being controlled and have no awareness of it. Yet, the signs are clear.

The signs are everywhere. The signs are in your lap, in your hand, or hanging on your wall. The signs are in your activity and exchange of energy. Even if you feel good about saying mean things, giving false news, exposing others, demeaning people, and wake up to bully and insult. Something is really wrong with you. Something is really wrong if it brings you great joy to set intentions to follow people you hate just to comment on their post. Yes, you really, really need some help. No joking.

Here is the invitation to detach from the masses, the collective, the crowd, the party. Who are you anyway? What do you really think? What do you really feel? Deprogram yourself. Detox your mind. Cleanse. Seperate yourself and then gather yourself. Seek spiritual or therapeutic help or just take some time…without technology. Think for yourself. Feel for yourself. And maybe you will discover the truth that it’s you more than it is them. Ahh….that’s it. You are afraid that you may be wrong. It’s okay to be wrong. I know, I know society and social media and your circle tells it’s not okay. BUT IT IS.

Am I using technology to tell you to take a break? What a silly question. This is my technology slot/time. Have you ever thought about that? Think for yourself and perhaps think deeper. Come out of the cesspool and into the ocean for a good cleansing. Take control of your time and mind. Think for yourself. It’s free…for now.

Yessss, so much unnecessary scrolling and it just makes me feel worse and unmotivated in my own life. What a dreadful habit. Will be more mindful with phone time.

I’m glad you took the time to read it and I am glad it brought some awareness to phone time. I too feel bad at times after getting caught in the loop of scrolling.
