What about a positive mind reboot or a new mind all together? How does that sound to you? Sounds good to me. I will take a re-investing in a positive mind after all we have been through globally this year. If you had a positive mind at some point, it’s still there and if you never had one, this is a good time to invest in one. How? I am glad you asked.
Think of this month as a reboot for the mind. Empty your mind of January, February, and March (Especially, March 12-14. It’s going to be a doozy.) I believe in seasons or energy of nature. Signs in the sky and what not. Signs from my spiritual readings. And well, from my own dreams and meditations. WOO WOO. It’s obvious we want something different, new from all of this turmoil in the world. Either way, change is happening. And the change you can make starts with your mind.
What have you learned about this life, this world, your country, your own life so far? And tell me what GOOD things have you learned or have remained? Take those things and nurture them. No good things you say? Then PLANT some in your mind. Imagine what you want to see in your own life. Visualization will help you to clean out your mind and invest in a positive mind. Note: No one is asking you to be positive 100% of the time or asking you to pretend as if things aren’t going south pretty quick. It is asking you to fill your mind with focus and actions that move you towards a better living. So, envision, imagine, write what you want your life to be like, who you want to be, what legacy of memories do you want to leave?
Speak life. You can be real and you can also be real negative. No one needs you point out all of the obvious negative things in the news or in your circle. THEY KNOW. THEY SEE IT AND HEAR IT. I often would tell negative coworkers, “Tell me two good things for every negative thing you tell me” or I will ask them when they finish telling me all of the bad stuff, gossip, etc., “So, what’s good in your life?” Invest in recognizing the GOOD and SPEAKING the good into your life. Affirmations and scriptures posted on your mirror, door, desk, somewhere and change when you feel led to. Get positive in your head by repeating affirmations and speaking about the GOOD.
Good ol’ gratitude will help your mind. 5 things minimum no matter what they are. They don’t always have to be things like family or God or grateful for a job. I’m thankful for a cup of coffee and some quiet time. What you are thankful and grateful for opens the door and windows to more good.
Turn the TV off and go without social media and your gossipy/negative friends and family. Tell them you will not be available today. Cut your screen time. You know this brings nothing to you but a 30 minute scroll on a roller coaster of emotions. Laugh, cry, anger, fear, sadness, laugh, awwww so cute, happy birthday, go to hell. You know that kind of range of emotions in less than 10 minutes. It’s energy that creates, transfers, multiplies once you are off or turn off the device.
Sleep. Sleep routine and sleep hygiene make for a better frame of mind in the morning and throughout the day.
READ something that pours into you! Read an article, book, self help or self improvement book, or a spiritual guide daily. Sounds far fetch for some but READING is something you can learn to enjoy.
Don’t forget to put up boundaries for you mindspace. You know it’s been said, “Don’t let people live in your head rent free.” I say, don’t let them live there at all if they can’t respect the peace you are creating or protecting.
