What type of freedom do you desire? What are the things or people you perceive that keep you from having it? Oh, I see you are aware of the problems, issues, but have you dwelled on the solutions? Have you asked for wisdom? Have you sought the solutions? Have you sat in stillness? If none of these things then do them. If you have the solution have you taken ACTION?

How bad do you desire the freedom that is available to you? This morning I was sitting and sipping my coffee and my mind started to drift onto the sacrifices I needed to make to gain freedom I have said for years I wanted in an area of my life. When I wrote down what I needed to do last night it felt as if some of my happiness was being restricted. I felt a little sad. I felt a little bad. So, I began to pray and then listened to affirmations until I feel asleep. Yet, here I was this morning thinking about the SACRIFICES I needed to make.

But before I begin to get to deep into that well of despair, path of disempowering thoughts, I heard a voice say, “Think of it as obedience. And you know obedience is greater than sacrifice.” I felt a little better but not quite out of the sacrifice cloud. As a rebel, I’m not fond of obedience either! Ha! But as the thought expounded, “Obedience is greater than the sacrifices you must make because the outcome will be abundance and freedom and stability. Think of obedience as instructions. Think of it as ordered steps. Steps that will lead you to a better life.” Ah, I see. I feel. I imagine that better life and I feel so good about it. But Spirit keeps enlightening me.

“You can not escape the uncomfortableness of this season. You need to feel it also to remind yourself in the future what you never want to feel again. Therefore, in a small way it is one of things that will keep you from coming back to this road. It’s time to depart from this captivity. It’s time for freedom. And many times with great freedom, comes great sacrifices and great responsibilities. But go to your imagined life often! It will help you to get through the uncomfortableness.”

How bad do you want your freedom. I want mine bad enough to go through this season of SAC-…um OBEDIENCE to an ABUNDANCE of FREEDOM.

I really like this, Nikki. You can’t just say you’re free and then you are magically free. Sometimes to wrap your head round something you need to reframe it in terms that you can accept. You need to dwell in imagined freedom. And–the most difficult for me–you need to sit quietly and seek solutions. Thank you!

Yes the wrapping your head around something is what it takes for me, the acceptance. Freedom feels good and sometimes it feels different. Sometimes it can be scary going into the unknown.
