Think of your nervous system as a network of access roads that feed into bigger roads, which eventually connect to the interstate. Using this analogy, the access roads are the nerves that serve the muscles and the extremities, while the interstate is the spine.
When the nervous system is working optimally, the “road network” transports messages to and from the brain without making any mistakes. The messages always reach the right destination, and neither the brain nor the extremities ever send wrong messages.

The nervous system is made up of the brain, spinal cord and nerves.
It controls many aspects of what you think, how you feel and what your body does. It allows you to do things such as walk, speak, swallow, breathe and learn. It also controls how the body reacts in stressful situations. The nervous system interprets and responds to information gathered through the senses.

Your nervous systems runs throughout your entire body. It’s a system. It’s a highway with roads, on and off ramps. I want to hone in on how it controls many aspects of what you THINK and HOW you FEEL and what your BODY does. In essence this mind, spirit/soul, body. It controls how the body REACTS in stressful situations. And do you see how it does that? by gathering information through the senses! So what happens when the stress is relentless? And this is where the nervous system can become overwhelmed.
