It’s beginning to look a lot like the mean, cold, cruel world so many wanted in the United States and in the world. However, they can only want what they are. They are ignorant of the light available to them. But, we won’t get into all of that. We will get into you, the lightworkers, the lights of the world, particularly the empaths.
Empaths, I don’t know about you but this month has been the longest “year” and worst “year” in my country’s history for the good people. I’ve needed more “breaks” from the world and my own personal lifes. Our personal lives colliding with the things outside of that have been like an endless gust of harsh, cold, wind. Like a blizzard! In blizzards, your visibility becomes limited. You’re holding on to your scarf, hat, hood, and trying to remain walking upright.
What does it mean to ground yourself?
Grounding is a self-soothing skill to use when you are having a bad day or dealing with a lot of stress, overwhelming feelings, and/or intense anxiety. Grounding is a technique that helps keep you in the present and helps reorient you to the here-and-now and to reality. -University of New Hampshire, Psychological and Counseling Services (https://www.unh.edu/pacs/what-grounding#:~:text=Grounding%20is%20a%20self%2Dsoothing,and%2Dnow%20and%20to%20reality. )
The technique in that article is one I may use when anxiety is about to fly off the rails and I am in public, I want to give some other ways to GROUND yourself as a daily or as needed.
Practice yoga.
Take a walk or hike.
Set aside time for deep, ritualistic, prayer or meditation.
CRY. Yes, get it out.
Go to bed early. Got to bed on time. Proper rest helps replenish.
If it’s warm weather, go barefoot outside. If not, GET INTO NATURE and don’t look at or answer your phone. That is right, call everyone that may call you and tell them, “I will be unavailable for 2 hours.”
Stop. Go do a hobby and get into it. Lose yourself.
Music. Blast it. Put it low in the background while you are working.
Go for a drive along the back roads in the country.
Sit by water. A river, a lake, the sea, the ocean.
The point is grounding is something that brings you into the now, into the calm from the brewing storm.
