Notes from The Love Experience and Self Love: Choice or Uncontrollable?

HELLO FEBRUARY! This month I wanted to highlight some blog posts from the past on the mysterious word, LOVE. What’s your experience with love and what is self love? Click the link below and let’s chat about it. I am really interested in your thoughts on these blog post around the topic of love that you will receive from me this February.

I honestly think you choose to love a person daily and from my experience, love is controllable to a certain degree. It’s really a complex topic. I’ll say it like this: Once I learned what real love was and what it looks like, beyond a religious topic, I realized there were some people I thought I loved and some people I thought loved me but in hindsight, it really wasn’t love at all. It was chaos. It was projection. It was trauma in some ways. It was lust. It was wishful thinking.

What do you think??? I want to know.

  1. If we’re talking about romantic love, I don’t think you choose who you are romantically in love with, but it is a choice to remain and do loving things.

For other types of love, I agree with you. I had to do an assessment to figure out if I really loved several people, including family and friends. Once I was able to be honest with myself, I began moving differently, and I’ve been much happier and at peace.

Self-love, I find, is important to develop if you’ve had any type of unresolved childhood trauma, caused or perpetuated by your parents. It’s almost like the need to re-parent, so you can “find” the love you should’ve received.

Sheesh! Apologies for the long answer. I should’ve written my own blog about these three things lol

    1. HA! Your answer is not long it’s in depth and thought out. I like that. I am just happy to have an answer and on top of that one longer than a sentence.
