So, you had a rough morning, day, week or month. I get it. I know you know by now that moving the body is one of the best ways to counteract the harmful toll stress takes on the body and mind. Yes, movement can help relieve stress. And no, I am not talking about moving from the couch to the refrigerator and back to the couch. That does not count!

Movement, such as exercise or a physical activity like racquet, can help you work through the stress of the flight or fight response. That response brings stress and exercise can help you work through it to bring your body back to balance. Movement, during stressful times helps protect your cardiovascular, immune, and digestive system!

Movement improves your mood, raises your endorphins, and it can be meditation in motion. You know how you can get into a grove while doing something and it becomes meditative? Calming? Yes. A walk or swimming or becoming so focused on the activity can be meditative.

There is plenty of tension going around this month and all year long. I suggest, you GO TAKE A HIKE! Literally, of course.
