Feeling stuck? Feeling down? Get up and get down. Dancing can improve your mood and attitude. People take dance classes, like zumba or line dancing classes because dancing makes them feel good. But there is nothing wrong with dancing in the privacy if your own home if you feel a bit shy as long as you dance as if no one is watching! I used to enjoy doing zumba but now I have to opt for some low impact dancing and alternatives. The alternative is turning on a playlist of my favorite hits and dancing. There are plenty of dance videos for exercise or you can just dance to make yourself feel good. It raises your heart rate and you utilize your muscles.
According to WebMD dancing eases anxiety and depression. Certain chemicals are produced and released in the brain when you dance. It also provides a way to escape repetitive negative thoughts and worries. These are thoughts that run through your mind over and over.
Dancing aso helps with memory! As we age, it gets harder to remember names, places, and other details. Learning new things, like different moves and styles of dance, sharpens your brain’s ability to remember these kinds of details. This can help prevent dementia. (WEBMD)
As I type this blog, I am having a moody morning. I think I will get up and use dance as my exercise and mood booster. 🙂 Seriously, will do!
