What Are You Doing Right or Well?

One thing I’m better at, because of therapy, is finally remembering to remind myself of what I did get right, accomplished, still doing during difficult and dark times. This takes practice and years to develop but I see it kicking in almost automatically.

For example, I didn’t cook at all for dinner last week. I was feeling terrible about it because I was not making healthy choices and I felt it was a waste of money. But, I did eat decent breakfasts and lunches. I had decent snacks. I stayed hydrated. I didn’t work out but I did my nightly routine of yin yoga or tai chi almost every night.

All I’m saying is don’t forget to count what you are doing well.

  1. That is a great practice! I’ve done it for years (also learned in therapy), now Im at the point I find positives even when things are really bad, and I irritate my friends when i point it out 🙂
