
Why would it be important to have the ability to spread your toes? Because healthy feet have wide spread toes. The ability to spread your toes gives you balance and alignment. It’s a no brainer as to why you would need balance but alignment helps the overall health of your feet, ankles, knees, and back. The wider you can spread your toes the bigger your range or base for support.
We only think of taking care of our feet as in pedicures or soaking them when they hurt. However, if you want to help prevent falls or the worse falls, you may want to pay more attention to your feet and how important they are to your overall health. Did you know your big toe should be able to move separately from your other toes? It is your anchor for movement and direction. Imagine not having it.

I know there seems to be so much to do to stay healthy and you can’t possibly do it all but balance as we age is so important. And it is so important to someone how has any type of bone or joint issues such as Rheumatoid Arthritis Disease. However, we all lose some bone density as we age and no one needs a fall. When you are in good decent health you can recover faster from such things. Also, wiggling your toes, curling and uncurling your toes is something you should do and be able to do for many of those same purposes.
