Reclining Pidgeon Pose

Tight hips? Sciatica nerve issues? Lower back issues? Oh my GOSH I love this pose and there are so many ways to do it. The above pose is a modification of the original which is below.

In the second photo you can remove the bolster/pillow for a deeper stretch. This is so good if you have a desk job or sit for long periods of time.

Since the pigeon pose targets the hip flexors, glutes, and piriformis muscles, it helps improve the range of motion in the hips. It may also strengthen the muscles that support the hips and lower back. Pigeon pose may also help relieve lower back pain by stretching the muscles and tendons around the spine. -WebMD

Don’t forget to alternate each leg for a stretch on each side.
