Let them be who they are. Depart with peace that surpasses all understanding. Some people will have a problem with you no matter what you do because they have a problem with themselves. They project their issues onto you. I know because I’ve been a target and they will practice their dysfunction out on you.
Not being their target means boundaries (boundaries are a form on self love and self care period!) And you can set them with love and tough love if need be. It is NOT Christian or spiritual to let people consistently mistreat you, abuse you (MENTALLY AND EMOTIONALLY AND SPIRITUALLY INCLUDED) play games, run in and out of your life. They need to get professional help and retain Jesus, the WORD not the figure, into their hearts. There is still a balm in Gilead for them (and you, too).
And sometimes it can mean departure and that can be sad when it’s someone you love. Baby, you’re just not going to have the relationship or friendship you wish you could have with them. I’m sorry. Been there. And there again. YET, the ability to love people with the love of the Lord and not letting them trample your mind and heart is a peace that surpasses all understanding. ![]()
