So, I watched an episode on CBS Sunday Morning months ago about an adult summer camp. I thought the concept was great and it seemed like it would be fun. I don’t think it lasted the entire summer. It was more like for a week. I never wanted to go to summer camp in the woods and around a lake. It was not my jam as a child. However, the adult summer camp seemed to be interesting. I enjoy nature now and yes, I would love to do arts and crafts.
Well, I was watching YouTube and this lady (Journal4Breakfast) came on after something I was watching. She was talking about summer camp as an adult but you’re at home. You don’t go anywhere and it’s all summer. She also never went to summer camp growing up. I love the concept and I have decided to do something similar tailored to my own projects. She did a journal with all of her ideas and she named her summer camp. You can choose your own thing but her summer camp was centered around crafting. It’s a craft camp for herself. I hope you will watch the video and maybe join me. Maybe you will do a writing camp or a cooking camp. Who knows!
I’m going to start my summer camp July 3rd – September 7, 2026 and I plan to incorporate this with my “many-mini sabbatical” moments this year. This week I will be preparing my camp journal, ideas, projects, field trips, reading list, nature time, etc.
