I share the same birthday as Vanessa Williams. We are such amazing women (ha!). I was 13 years old when this song was in rotation and far from a woman. But I was dreamin of love. I had crushes. As I grew older this song had more meaning because I simply thought if I couldn’t meet love in real life currently, maybe I would meet real love in my dreams until it became a reality. “How to put it together How to say it right” speaks to the very shyness of me when I am feeling those feelings. Are they feeling the same thing? What should you do or say?

There is something about this song that still gives me hope. If only in my dreams.
