If you have ever shopped Dillard’s for the Cabernet Bra Line you know by now they stopped making them. I was in the store when I discovered this and had a mini meltdown. It was the affordable line (and by affordable I mean under $45) and it was a good everyday bra. I was not willing or able to pay an arm and a leg for boobs. Oh I know it takes more material, etc. etc. for us with big breasts. I get it. We are just now on the verge of beautiful colors and prints. I had been searching for alternatives and saving up for another bra. Yes, saving up. I bought one from a plus size store. It fits, but it hurts after a few hours. Even specialty stores didn’t have my size and when they did…an arm and a leg.

Well, I was in Dillard’s last night and it popped in my head (via the Holy Spirit maybe? Sheer intelligence and curiosity?) to ask the sales lady, “So, what replaced the Cabernet Bra Line?” She said “Oh, Dillard’s has come out with the Modern Movement Bra Line to replace their Cabernet Bra. You should have seen the heavens open up, light shine down around us, and angels sing when she said this to me. She guided me to the line and explained everything. I tried one on and I was “well pleased” enough to buy two!

Here is my review:

The bras have been redesigned and reconstructed for better support and comfort. The red circle shows a different in stitch and I am no expert, but I believe this is to help with the lift. Also, the material is different and better in my un-humble opinion. The stretchy redesign on the side of the bra, under the armpit is fantastic and provides stretch and comfort. I like this because one of my boobs is slightly bigger than the other. And with this bra it adjusted immediately! No more adjusting that one boob!

Slightly wider straps. Just enough to secure. And on the inside of the bra is extra material. This was not in any of the old bras. I am not sure the purpose, but I am sure the designer knows what she/he is doing.

Immediately, you will notice the different design. It is almost like a M shape. When I stepped in front of the mirror I was delighted. And did I mention the material is different? They also have gotten the wireless version in that was so popular with many. I am going to try it, too. I haven’t had much faith in wireless bras.

You can order online if there is not a Dillard’s near you!

Thank you, Dillard’s. Thank you so much!

It sure is tricky to buy a bra online. I bought one from amazon and it was flimsy and terrible quality. I should have known better though. Lesson learned!

I will try this bra again. I’m a 38G, I need lift and fullness support. I’m heavy and full.

      Hi
Were you successful in finding a bra that was as good as Cabernet?

I was not! I I still purchase this brand because it’s better than others and affordable. I make them last longer by handwashing them. Still on the hunt!

Hmmm… I never even tried the Modern Movement bras on because I didn’t like the feel of the new material when I picked them up to inspect them. They felt flimsy to me. I ended up getting on eBay and buying up the few Cabernet bras in my size I could find that were new/w tags. (I didn’t find out Cabernet was gone til months later when Dillard’s had no more left in clearance anywhere so that’s how I ended up searching for some online.) After the eBay bought Cabernet bras ended up on the floor like the cartoon, I decided to try wireless nursing bras because I was tired of wires and compression and was just looking to be more comfortable on long days out and about….Cabernet brand had been the most comfortable bra I found in Dillard’s. So the nursing bras are definitely more comfortable. I’ve been wearing them since lockdown in 2020. Don’t lift my girls as high as wired bras but lift them enough that they look fine in most clothes. Only time I think about having an underwire bra for more lift is when I put on a more fitted dress that has a very defined bust line and I need my girls to sit just a little bit higher for the dress to lay better. This just happened so I’m online looking at bras cause my one last good Cabernet bra that I was saving for dresses like this, just gave up the ghost and I decided to see if Dillard’s had brought Cabernet bras back. They had gotten rid of the line once before like 20 years ago and ended up bringing it back like a year or 2 later with prettier designs and a few occasional colors outside the 3 basics. No such luck this go round so I guess I better go to Dillard’s and try on these Modern Movement bras and see if I can find a good “dress bra” lol. Wish me good luck!

I just bought Dillard’s ‘replacement’ for Cabernet. I really do not like the fit at all. I wear a G cup and the coverage and feel is not good. It feels like the straps are a wider fit and I don’t fit in the cups. Bring back the Cabernet !!!!

After having the bras for a while, the only one I have left is a black one and this is 2025. This was 2018. I do not buy them any longer.

What are you using now? I was on the Dillards site and couldn’t figure out which bra was the replacement for the Cabernet. I was lucky to have purchased several on clearance, but now looking for replacements. I won’t lie I would like to possible have a wireless as I find the couple left I have as being a bit uncomfortable.
        Any suggestions would be appreciated.

After a year of the Modern Bra which replaced the Cabernet, I no longer buy the Modern Movement Bra. They became uncomfortable and eventually wore out. Here is what I do now, I buy the expensive bras in my size on the clearance racks! I pick up one or two here and there and that is how I’ve built my bra inventory up.
