Bra Review & News for D Cups and Up

a_comical_depiction_of_the_top_10_bra_types_640_01

If you have ever shopped Dillard’s for the Cabernet Bra Line you know by now they stopped making them. I was in the store when I discovered this and had a mini meltdown. It was the affordable line (and by affordable I mean under $45) and it was a good everyday bra. I was not willing or able to pay an arm and a leg for boobs. Oh I know it takes more material, etc. etc. for us with big breasts. I get it. We are just now on the verge of beautiful colors and prints. I had been searching for alternatives and saving up for another bra. Yes, saving up. I bought one from a plus size store. It fits, but it hurts after a few hours. Even specialty stores didn’t have my size and when they did…an arm and a leg.

Well, I was in Dillard’s last night and it popped in my head (via the Holy Spirit maybe? Sheer intelligence and curiosity?) to ask the sales lady, “So, what replaced the Cabernet Bra Line?” She said “Oh, Dillard’s has come out with the Modern Movement Bra Line to replace their Cabernet Bra. You should have seen the heavens open up, light shine down around us, and angels sing when she said this to me. She guided me to the line and explained everything. I tried one on and I was “well pleased” enough to buy two!

Here is my review:

The bras have been redesigned and reconstructed for better support and comfort. The red circle shows a different in stitch and I am no expert, but I believe this is to help with the lift. Also, the material is different and better in my un-humble opinion. The stretchy redesign on the side of the bra, under the armpit is fantastic and provides stretch and comfort. I like this because one of my boobs is slightly bigger than the other. And with this bra it adjusted immediately! No more adjusting that one boob!

Slightly wider straps. Just enough to secure. And on the inside of the bra is extra material. This was not in any of the old bras. I am not sure the purpose, but I am sure the designer knows what she/he is doing.

Immediately, you will notice the different design. It is almost like a M shape. When I stepped in front of the mirror I was delighted. And did I mention the material is different? They also have gotten the wireless version in that was so popular with many. I am going to try it, too. I haven’t had much faith in wireless bras.

You can order online if there is not a Dillard’s near you!

Thank you, Dillard’s. Thank you so much!

There is nothing, and I mean nothing better than a great clearance finds when you are a girl like me on a very very tight budget! It makes you feel like champagne! All bubbly and sparkly on the inside. As I fight off debt and try to save, there are ways to to still get a bit of shopping in here and there. And as I often preach, quality on clearance is winning.

Nail polish by Sally Hansen. Two colors that can flow right into Spring and Summer. Edgy earrings by Steve Madden. I love these and I have worn them with several outfits already. I got these before Christmas one weekend along with two more pair I will blog about I am sure. And my favorite find during Dillard’s Big Shoe Clearance are these sparkly pair of sandals by one of my favorite shoe designers Gianni Bini. They are so comfortable and can really set off a cute summer dress or a pair of skinny jeans.

Clearance first! Then every thing else!

Fashion Confetti: From a Friend

20170219_091725.jpg

This pale pink purse by Aldo is a favorite of mines. It was given to me by a dear friend for my birthday. She wasn’t sure if I would like it or have something to wear with it. Ha! I found so many things and ways to accessorize this purse. My first time carrying it was with this black and white dress, pointy flats, and black and gold jewelry. I thought it was a nice combo as we are near spring. It’s a subtle pop of color and I like it.

Fashion Confetti: Perfume

Perfume can be very expensive. However, when you are a fashionista and thrifter, you know exactly where to go to add to your collection. TJMAXX! Yes, that is correct. Very good, designer perfume can be found at TJMAXX. It’s less expensive than going to one of those “outlet” perfume shops. I can never find any good deals in there and feel as if it’s a waste of time. Enjoy.

Fashion Confetti: Versatile Styles w/my New Leather Shrug Jacket

Here is the consignment jacket mixed with two dresses and some Vince Camuto outlet heels. I thought I would never be able to wear them again after I had surgery on my foot. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and I no longer wear heels as often or as high. Plus it all depends on how the shoe is made.

ANY…WHO…I have always been a stylish chic and I will continue to do so making changes along the way. The jacket is the amazing deal I found for 14.99 with an original value of 219.00. You can see details on my blog under the Fashion Confetti tab. The red dress i from TJ MAXX around $20 and the black dress was definitely a clearance item. It’s mostly how I shop.

Fashion Confetti: Consignment Find

I felt the the jacket and thought to myself…”Oh….this is so soft.” I tried it on and it felt sooooo good and was a perfect fit. I purchased this at a consignment shop for 14.99. I had $10 off the 24.99 price tag. When I got home I searched Jessica London, the designer/label and found the jacket is called a leather shrug jacket. It retails at 219.00 and was on sale this week for 149. 00. Can you say this was a steal!!!! By the way…there are some really great deals on the website.

Confetti Weekend: SURPRISE! HAIR FEST

14317521_10155288438848266_3159400551606929491_n

Imagine my surprise when I showed up to Court Square to get a feel for a group performing to potentially write a blog for them and the first thing I see are the ladies below. This is when I discovered this was a hair show with a theme to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital one of my favorite charities. My mom is retired from St. Jude and I spent many summers there as a child running around in the out patient department. I snapped as many pictures as I could and I got as much information as I could. So hold on to your roots…here we go!

First up to bat, pun intended, was Suicide Squad. A young group of hair students competing in a competition.

The next group of students and young hair stylists were just as unique and creative. They were from Empire School of Beauty School.

The crowd was in total awe of the students’ creations from both teams. Empire walked away winners but, really both teams were winners. Anytime you lend your talent to support a charity how can you lose?

Some of the amazing vendors on display with their products and creations:

Her personality is just as vibrant and fierce as her display of accessories. Meet Jenni of J Chic Life Style. She’s a real “Style Therapist”. Keep up with Jenni on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram @jchiclifestyle or www.jchiclife.style

What you want on a warm summer afternoon in Memphis, TN is Parker’s Water Ice. Thank goodness they were in Court Square! Strawberry lemonade please and thank you!

I walked over to her table and said “Ooo! Make Up Candy!” You can find Pink Powder Parlor online at PinkPowderParlor.com What a vast spectrum of pink from dainty roses to electric fuchsias! And many more colors!!!

Models for Goddess-Guleoir mood: If you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready!

So, I’m under the tent finishing up my Chicken on a Stick from Runway Grill, and I look up to see more hair models getting some  Parker’s Water Ice.

I say to myself: “Is that? Yes it is honey.” Keith Turks from The Real Hairstylists of Memphis. Immediately I knew I was in for a slay. As I mentioned earlier, I had no idea what I was walking into.

Watch them work! I tried to pick a favorite model and hairstyle but it was impossible!

After getting my dance on in Court Square, because Keith Turks and models brought the beats, I decided now would be a good time for Cupcake Cutie. It’s only a few steps away from Court Square. Choose a a cupcake and pick an icing. I chose the lemon cupcake and strawberry icing.

One more vendor all the way from St.Louis, Brittany Raji. I am so glad I met her! @BeautyImpactAccesories on Instagram

My evening here concluded with the group I came to see,

20160918_161029

Hothouse Gruv took us back, and way back  with 90’s music. They came to show out with energy and a live wire performance! The dancers gave their all and talent was displayed in each member. It was great to end my evening as I headed to another even with a party on still on my mind.

Last but, definitely not least in any shape form or fashion is Stephanie Brown. She put this amazing show together and announced she will be joining Season 2 of The Real Hair Stylists of Memphis! Please stay in touch with Stephanie Brown by following her on Instagram @beautyonbeale, contacting her at Style Coach Forever  and Stephanie Brown @stylecoachforever on Facebook. She is not just a Celebrity Hair Stylist. She’s a motivational speaker and so much more!
