Maybe you drink hot tea and maybe you don’t. I’m more of a coffee person but, I do like tea. One thing I enjoy getting in the fall and winter is what used to be call the “medicine ball” tea at Starbucks. They use a different name because you know people who are desperate for money will sue for anything. I still call it that when I order. If you like it and want to make it at home you can!
All you need is: water, a peach tea bag, a mint tea (if you don’t like mint you don’t need it), a citrus tea, honey and lemonade is optional. I usually make it without lemonade. Also, you can buy Starbucks Peach Tranquility Tea and the Jade Citrus Mint Tea, honey, and lemonade.
Bring water to boil or use your tea kettle. Brew the tea bags in the water for about 2 minutes, simmer the lemonade until it’s warm or microwave for 30 seconds. Discard tea bags, add, honey, and lemonade. That’s it.
Hot Toddy?
Here is a classic recipe from Southern Living. However, there are numerous variations to a hot toddy as I am sure you know.
- Step 1. Steep tea bag in boiled water for 5 minutes.
- Step 2. Discard tea bag. Transfer tea to a cocktail glass or mug
- Step 3. Stir in honey to dissolve, then lemon juice, bourbon, and a cinnamon stick. Serve with a lemon slice.
You can use whiskey, you can leave out the cinnamon stick. It’s up to you.
Either beverage is great for chilly and cold days if you need a pick me up or if you are not feeling your best.
Do you have any hot beverage ideas or easy recipes? If you don’t mind, do share. You don’t have to share the recipe. Just tell us what you prefer.
