Are You Successful?

What is success to you? Do you get to define success for others? Who defined success for you? I mean really think about where you got YOUR ideas of what success is. Did you get it from your parents? Friends? TV? Social Media? Society? Religion? Yes. I said religion because some of us were taught incorrectly about being wealthy based on the lack of proper explanation of several scriptures. So, I encourage you to take some real time to define success for yourself without comparison to other people.

I recently out of frustration thought “I should be further along than I am.” And then a friend said it too about herself. And an associate said they felt they should be further along. But this is what was given to me when I said it: “By who’s standards? In comparison to who? You? Observing everyone around you and comparing yourself? Maybe by your own nice, little, neatly mapped out plans of your life on a whiteboard or in a notebook? Perhaps in your mind? Further along?”

I thought about this. I honestly was thinking about where others were and my own plans. I couldn’t be further from my plans if I intentionally diverted from them. This is why I wrote the affirmations in the blog yesterday: https://nikkisconfettilife.com/2023/05/24/where-are-you/ . But what was expressed to me about this statement was some of what I wrote in the above paragraph and also what is in the next few paragraphs.

You are where you are supposed to be. You are where you need to be. You are where you are however you think you got here. If hearing you are where you are because you made the choices you made seems too lofty or a dump reasoning, then hear this: “I am where I am because of some choices I made and some choices I did not. I am here because of myself and others whether I consciously or subconsciously (willingly or naively) allowed certain things to take place. I take responsibility for that but I do not take responsibility for the things I could not control. I take responsibility for my healing and I choose to make better decisions and choices.” I wrote all of that because it’s more complex than “You are where you are because of the choices you made.” And people never stop, nor do most care to see that. It requires thought, rationale, comprehension, and compassion and who has time for that today?

Feel the difference in “I should be further along” and “I am right where I need to be for change. I am right where I need to be for growth.” Say it aloud. Feel it. Remove the weight of “I should be further along” and see that feeling as an indicator that you are ready for change or growth. “Oh! I am ready for change. I am ready for a new adventure in life. This is getting boring or old.” You feel much lighter. You are more apt to take action for the right reasons after you FIRST define success for yourself based on YOUR internal dialogue. Not what the world or people say success is.

The heart of a human plans their course but the Lord guides their steps. Proverbs 16:9

Many plans are in one’s heart but the purpose of the Lord will prevail. Proverbs 19:21

Have you defined success for other people? Why? What is success to you?

Where Are You?

YOU/ME:”I FEEL LIKE I SHOULD BE FURTHER ALONG IN LIFE.”

Me: SAY THIS and notice the difference in what you feel.

I am right where I need to be

I am right where I need to be for change

I am right where I need to be to leap out on faith

I am right where I need to be for growth

I am right where I need to be for expansion

I am right where I need to be to start a new journey, a new adventure in life

April’s Energy is the “One” Energy

Hello and Welcome April! April brings us the 1 energy and how is this important to some of us? Well, it’s as important as knowing the signs of the times and what spiritual season is happening in our lives. With this information we know how to guide our energy and what energy to tap into. It’s like a cheat sheet or study sheet for those that would never cheat on a test!

This is the second quarter of the year and April offers us a FRESH START. If you have done all the work from January – March, then you are ready to begin the creative process of your work. If not, it’s okay because this is the time to get creative and this is also the time for some MEGA spiritual growth. The “One” energy is mainly about:

  • Creation
  • Spiritual Growth
  • Courage, Confidence, Leadership, and being a Self-Starter

I think it’s important to highlight this Self-Starting energy. It’s like David in the scriptures when he said he would “Encourage himself” and that is what you and I need to do this month. It’s going to take some self-encouragement and the ability to support yourself in your ideas and plans. You cannot rely on others for that in this season. You have to be your own cheerleader and biggest fan. People may not understand your vision and where you are headed. Therefore, they may not be able to support and encourage you. They may be busy doing that for themselves!

You must resist laziness and excuses this month and you must SELF START yourself! You must hype yourself up. So, make sure you get plenty of rest because a tired and sleep deprived body will not hold up to the demands of your ambitions this month. Make sure you eat properly and exercise to give your body and mind endurance and the nutrition to function in this high production period. You have meet and greets, videos to shoot and create, chapters to books and blogs to write, you have the revealing of a shop or business, etc. to do. You have “STUFF” TO DO and you have no time to be pussyfooting around!

Organize and execute. Line up the actions and knock them down like dominoes. Be proud of yourself. Pat yourself on the back. In Christianity, we have been taught to accept no praise for the things we do because it was thought to be ego. It was thought to be “boisterous”. Sad, we didn’t know the difference between being proud of your work and efforts, your accomplishments and being some ego maniac. It is okay. You know the difference between being proud and BRAGGING and having the “BIG HEAD”. You know an inflated ego when you see one and hear the “ME ME ME and the I I I” being sung. You know when the person wants you to praise them and requests praise for what they have done. That is not you! You are intelligent enough to know the difference because you were created by an intelligent being and that intelligence resides within you. TRUST Spirit will let you know if you are getting too far gone. You are in partnership with the Creator and you have to do YOUR PART and the CREATOR does his/her part. When a child says, ” I DID IT” we don’t lecture on ego and pride comes before a great fall because we know the energy in which that claim comes from.

Here are some affirmations to help you during this month:

I am encouraged.

I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.

I am confident in my work and calling.

I move forward with courage to complete my goals.

I take calculated actions towards my goals and dreams.

I learn from my mistakes and I quickly move on.

I am a self-starter. I nip excuses in the bud and get on with doing what I set out to do.

I enjoy resting. I take the necessary actions to rest so that my mind and body can continue safely and creatively the rigorous course before me.

I reach for the right foods and beverages to fuel me.

I welcome the lessons this month as I welcome the spiritual growth it brings me.

I am patient with myself and others as I get things done.

It is okay to clap for myself when I accomplish a goal. It is okay to be happy when I put forth efforts, take actions, and receive desired results.

I am creative. I receive solutions.

Sunday Morning Coffee Musings: A License to Lose

I almost gave myself a LICENSE TO LOSE this morning. Fight for your right to HOPE. Don’t give yourself a license to lose by:

Apathy (no hope)

Comparison (comparing yourself to others)

Whining and Complaining

SOS STUCK ON THE SAME STORY, telling yourself the same thing over and over

Trying to control and micromanage

Fighting to be RIGHT

Don’t give yourself a license to lose.

Sunday Morning Coffee Musings: Peace & Protection

In my country, it’s election month. But in actuality it’s been election year 24 hours and 7 days a week. I wish there were no political ads or news on Saturdays and Sundays on any outlet. This is the fourth very important presidential election I have lived through along with a pandemic. There have been times I have “hated it here” and by here I don’t mean the country. I mean the “atmosphere” of hatred. The stench of lies and putrefied pride of many. I have been stumped at the ignorance and outright stupidity of people that otherwise, have an education and the ability to research, not google truth.

However, it needed to happen. All of it. It’s not a game of mercy. It’s a reaping of seeds sown. It’s a GREAT FALL that has come after the PRIDE. I wonder if we will be getting up from the hog pin or nope…just getting started rolling around in the mud. And even if we do get up, slowly, surely, the survey of the damage done…unfathomable. Progress takes a long time but, destruction takes seconds, minutes, days, a bill here, a policy here, or an appointment there. In the Bible, they wanted a king and God gave them Saul. They cried. No. It wasn’t tears of joy.

During this HADES of election month, because it will not be determined the next day, I have decided to take refuge in the God I serve and solitude in the things and people I love. I will preserve my mental health and my emotional well-being. I will utilize every tool from therapy and therapy itself. There will be prayer and meditation and yoga. Fire round me. Glory in the midst. There will peace in this house.

Become A Mountain

How do I stabilize my emotions? Sadhguru says become a mountain.
I acknowledge the fluctuation of my emotions.
I am responsible for my emotions and my responses.
I can neutralize the threat of drama brought on by others by CHOOSING no response, a response in love, or a higher level response.
I choose to work through my day focusing and refocusing on the tasks at hand.
I choose to unwind this evening doing something I enjoy.

Sunday Morning Coffee Musings: What Can You Do?

A few weeks ago I posted in a rheumatoid arthritis support group a tip on relaxation. One of the tips involved soaking in a tub to help relieve tension. And that is where the drama from the trauma began.

I define it as trauma because you must be experiencing some type of trauma that pushes you to release drama on unsuspecting strangers. Sadly, people that deal with you on a regular basis know you are about dramatization. They know that when they see you, you bring the drama. You see, in the comment section there were responses to my post like: I CANT SOAK IN THE TUB! HOW IS THAT RELAXING? I CAN GET IN BUT I CAN’T GET OUT. HUMPH, THAT IS SURE TO CREATE TENSION AND NOT RELAXATION. I AM TOO LARGE FOR A TUB. I HAVEN’T SAT IN A TUB FOR YEARS. NO WAY THIS CAN WORK. One lady even said to me I should have modified the post. I wanted to say, “Ma’am, I didn’t write the article. DUH. And you should have modified your thinking.” BUT…I respect my elders most of the time (because I don’t believe it’s okay to be 80 and say whatever you want to people). Also, the Spirit told me to be quiet. She’s traumatized by Rheumatoid and many other issues. This is her sadness, pain, hurt, gushing and lashing out.

Pause. When you see a post of something that you don’t like such as one that reads: “I love strawberries.” Do you hop on and respond: STRAWBERRIES ARE DISGUSTING. I HATE THEM. THEY ARE THE WORST FRUIT ON THE PLANET. CAN’T SEE HOW YOU EAT THOSE. Has it ever occurred to you, that post was not for you? I see people raving about things that are not for me. Unless I see a “what do you think?” I don’t bother UNLESS they are family or close friends. Many times, I don’t bother then. It’s one thing to say you don’t like berries or I am allergic but I wish I could eat them. It’s whole other thing to BASH and INSULT and have a total meltdown over nothing. A simple positive post or someone’s opinion over if they like pumpkin spice lattes (ugh).

Press play. I wonder did those people stop and think, I can do ALL of those other things except soak in the tub. Great article. No. They saw the ONE thing they couldn’t do and “went to town” about it. They didn’t think: “Gosh, I can follow all of these tips in the shower, in my shower chair, or however it is I get clean.” Nope. They honed in on what they could not do. The trauma of what I cannot do. The trauma of WHAT I USE TO be able to do.

This trauma is VERY real. I know about it. I live it and if you keep on living, as the elders say, you will know it, too, in some shape, form, or fashion. Sometimes, I think about my life B.R. (Before Rheumatoid Arthritis Disease) and B.F. (Before Fibromyalgia) and MY GOD! I miss ALL of the things I could do. Even the simplest things. Sometimes I stay in those memories a little too long and I become sadden, blue, depressed, compressed…oppressed. And then I have to free myself from those thoughts with therapy, journaling, talking to a friend, or…THINKING ABOUT ALL OF THE THINGS I CAN STILL DO and even if I have to modify them or have help they still can be done! “Glory to God!” in somebody’s southern church goer voice (:-D). You can heal yourself, or get some help, from the trauma of what has happened to you, whatever it is. The trauma produces the drama and quite frankly, people get tired of it. We know you are hurt but, there is a more EXCELLENT way to deal with it and release it. It’s called prayer, meditation, yoga, sound baths, therapy, Yeshua, Yaweh, spirituality, your choice of religion, forgiveness, etc. It’s called reading a books about it. Going to your temple, church, mosque, and REALLY walking in your religion. Developing a relationship with your Creator. SOMETHING! Something other than bringing the drama, spreading the hate and hurt. Lashing out has cause your relationships to be severed or strained.

What can you do? Huh? THINK ON THOSE THINGS. Think on the things you can do! Those things are TRUE, too. Those things are lovely. Those things “are” admirable. Those things “are” excellent and praiseworthy. Think about such things!

Sunday Morning Coffee Musings: Discernment & Distraction

e5c1f070a13c72aa99bd5ce987fdbe7b

Discernment is the ability to judge a situation well or to judge a situation well for the obtaining of spiritual knowledge or guidance.

I had to make some changes that would affect my ability to pay my bills. I mean it would make paying them more of a challenge. The weeks before the day of the change there were quite a few distractions that made me want to change my mind. And on the day of change, there was a REALLY BIG DISTRACTION.

I felt many things like anxiety, confusion, and jealousy. I second guessed myself a few times. I second guess my “hearing” God (What you may call, self, the Universe, Creator, Divine, etc.). However, I came to recognize this as a test of my faith in myself and of faith in the God I serve. YOU MUST THINK and OBSERVE what is going on when you make decisions to change. Why does negativity seem to surround a change that is good for you? Why does fear arise? Doubt? Where is this coming from? You must not only ask the questions, you must answer the questions HONESTLY. And if you pray and meditate, you must do that, too! You need clarity.

  • In my religion it says God is not the author of confusion. For me, the confusion was coming from within and without.
  • Also, God spoke to my spirit, however you want to explain that, “I would never use negativity to keep you in a situation that is not good for you. I would have been sending obvious signs of positive change and improvement.”
  • I know God to be my provider and protector. There is scripture in my religion that says; “Put your trust in God, not man.” In other words, trust God that cannot fail because sometimes, many times, people and jobs will fail us. We will fail ourselves at times. No matter what is happening, God will provide, protect, and preserve. This is what calms my fear. THINK: There is not only scripture that shows God’s provision, but I have so many examples and proof in my own life of God’s provision, preservation, and protection. Also, of God’s increase and blessings. THINK. REFLECT.
  • Each time I prayed, something negative would happen as a sign of why I had to make the BIG change. I was restless. I was without peace.
  • What about OBEDIENCE? I had to obey what I heard and what I felt. You know what you hear and what you feel. You know that “something”, that gut feeling or wherever your intuition hits you. You must obey it because if you don’t there are consequences and if you do obey it, there are rewards. Those rewards can be blessings, a peace of mind, a promotion, etc.
  • Prayer and meditation, talking with Godly counsel, and even you-tubing some of my favorite spiritual leaders and teachers is what helped me stay clear. And trust me, I am not just a Christian that listens to preachers only. I seek wisdom. Wisdom doesn’t have a religion.

I am here this morning. I slept good. I am taking it day my day. The energy in my home is peaceful. A person may be responsible for the energy they bring in your space, but you are responsible for letting the energy remain.
