No One Is Better Equipped

When you say I don’t know what I want or I don’t know what to do, you NEGATE Infinite Intelligence within you. You VOID, you nullify, you make ineffective the GOD within you!

You really are saying you are too lazy to determine your own experience or that someone else IS better equipped to determine your life. NO ONE IS BETTER EQUIPPED TO DETERMINE YOUR LIFE, YOUR GOOD, YOUR EXPERIENCES, BUT YOU!

YOU ARE THE CHOICE MAKER

Here is what you need to know and begin to speak:

YOU ARE THE CHOICEMAKER. YOU ARE THE MANAGER OF YOUR LIFE.

You must understand that you are one with the Creator, or God, or The Infinite Intelligence. In other words, you were created by an intelligent being therefore you have the ability to make intelligent decisions about your life. You are ONE with GOD. You are one with the CREATOR. You are one with Infinite Intelligence. It is within you ALREADY. TODAY. RIGHT NOW. The Power to Make DECISIONS is already in you.

Refrain from INDECISION!

Indecisiveness and The Turmoil It Brings

We are discussing the power of decision making. It may seem like a small thing to you but, the highest function of your mind is to make decisions. Hence, “make up your mind” is a phrase we use often. Every day you are making decisions about your life. Even when you decide to be indifferent and not decide, it is called indecision.

Let’s talk about that first. Indecision is the individual’s choice to fail. If you decide not to make a decision, then the Universe or Life will make the decision for you. Life waits for no one. It goes on. And usually, you will receive what you do not what or what you fear the most. Your energy of indecisiveness brings forth what you are feeling which is hesitation, frustration, fear, and uncertainty.

April’s Energy is the “One” Energy

Hello and Welcome April! April brings us the 1 energy and how is this important to some of us? Well, it’s as important as knowing the signs of the times and what spiritual season is happening in our lives. With this information we know how to guide our energy and what energy to tap into. It’s like a cheat sheet or study sheet for those that would never cheat on a test!

This is the second quarter of the year and April offers us a FRESH START. If you have done all the work from January – March, then you are ready to begin the creative process of your work. If not, it’s okay because this is the time to get creative and this is also the time for some MEGA spiritual growth. The “One” energy is mainly about:

  • Creation
  • Spiritual Growth
  • Courage, Confidence, Leadership, and being a Self-Starter

I think it’s important to highlight this Self-Starting energy. It’s like David in the scriptures when he said he would “Encourage himself” and that is what you and I need to do this month. It’s going to take some self-encouragement and the ability to support yourself in your ideas and plans. You cannot rely on others for that in this season. You have to be your own cheerleader and biggest fan. People may not understand your vision and where you are headed. Therefore, they may not be able to support and encourage you. They may be busy doing that for themselves!

You must resist laziness and excuses this month and you must SELF START yourself! You must hype yourself up. So, make sure you get plenty of rest because a tired and sleep deprived body will not hold up to the demands of your ambitions this month. Make sure you eat properly and exercise to give your body and mind endurance and the nutrition to function in this high production period. You have meet and greets, videos to shoot and create, chapters to books and blogs to write, you have the revealing of a shop or business, etc. to do. You have “STUFF” TO DO and you have no time to be pussyfooting around!

Organize and execute. Line up the actions and knock them down like dominoes. Be proud of yourself. Pat yourself on the back. In Christianity, we have been taught to accept no praise for the things we do because it was thought to be ego. It was thought to be “boisterous”. Sad, we didn’t know the difference between being proud of your work and efforts, your accomplishments and being some ego maniac. It is okay. You know the difference between being proud and BRAGGING and having the “BIG HEAD”. You know an inflated ego when you see one and hear the “ME ME ME and the I I I” being sung. You know when the person wants you to praise them and requests praise for what they have done. That is not you! You are intelligent enough to know the difference because you were created by an intelligent being and that intelligence resides within you. TRUST Spirit will let you know if you are getting too far gone. You are in partnership with the Creator and you have to do YOUR PART and the CREATOR does his/her part. When a child says, ” I DID IT” we don’t lecture on ego and pride comes before a great fall because we know the energy in which that claim comes from.

Here are some affirmations to help you during this month:

I am encouraged.

I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.

I am confident in my work and calling.

I move forward with courage to complete my goals.

I take calculated actions towards my goals and dreams.

I learn from my mistakes and I quickly move on.

I am a self-starter. I nip excuses in the bud and get on with doing what I set out to do.

I enjoy resting. I take the necessary actions to rest so that my mind and body can continue safely and creatively the rigorous course before me.

I reach for the right foods and beverages to fuel me.

I welcome the lessons this month as I welcome the spiritual growth it brings me.

I am patient with myself and others as I get things done.

It is okay to clap for myself when I accomplish a goal. It is okay to be happy when I put forth efforts, take actions, and receive desired results.

I am creative. I receive solutions.

Sunday Morning Coffee Musings: One Mic

Last week was a week for the books. I held my 4th Woman emPowered Up Conference online and according to the numbers, it was a flop. My speakers were top notch. The very last night no one showed up and it was my turn to speak. I recorded the talk and then my daughter came on as I was wrapping it up. The challenge wasn’t remaining satisfied with being obedient and going forth, I didn’t care about the numbers as if I needed numbers to validate me or the conference. If that is the case, then why was I so sadden? Why was I angry?

I didn’t even know I was angry until I did a heart chakra guided meditation and it spoke about being angry. This is when Spirit spoke to me and said you are angry. I knew I was sad but angry? Let me figure out why I was sad first and then I will figure out why I am angry. I continued to do meditation. I did yoga while listening to music for the heart chakra. As I was doing yoga, I got these messages:

  1. You are sad because you wanted people to receive the valuable information you had to give. You wanted more people to share your passion of wisdom and knowledge with. And for this you will be blessed.
  2. You are angry that your family and friends didn’t show up but, you should not be angry with them. You can’t always be there for them, remember? And they can’t always be there for you. Extend to them the same grace and mercy you extend to yourself. Give them the same understanding and compassion.

And so, I did.

Sunday Morning Coffee Musings: Someone’s Life Long Suffering

I woke up at 1:27 this morning. I was fully refreshed because I fell asleep a few hours before my normal bedtime. I scrolled Facebook, and eventually got up to have a low carb breakfast because I was incredibly hungry. I figured after I go back to sleep and get up for the day, I would have coffee and cereal. Anyway, I was heading from the kitchen when I was suddenly struck by a painful memory of childhood.

Where did the thought come from? Well, I have recently been going through some things with my own young adult daughter and I guess I was reflecting on motherhood and how some of the things said and done to me affected my life. I am careful not to injure my daughter with deeds or words but, as I have been told by other parents, “Good luck with that.” No matter how hard you try to be the best or the perfect parent, not to do what was done to you, they will find something you didn’t do right and you will be made aware of it. Over and over. I have already been made aware. “Luckily” it wasn’t life alternating.

I think childhood injuries that take a toll on us mentally and emotionally have to be a constant of microaggression, aggression, abuse of any level, or some devastating trauma. But, even if it’s not childhood, it can be young adulthood and adulthood. I think about the things that happened to me in young adulthood and in adulthood that were done by someone to me. And I ask this question, not for you to answer. Not for you to feel bad about yourself but, for you to think about your words and actions. Have you been the cause of someone’s life long suffering?

I pondered how would one deal with that? Ask for forgiveness? What if you don’t get it? Then you have to forgive yourself and move on. Change? Yes. Please change. I don’t care how old you are. Change is ageless. You’re not a dog so you can learn new ways and habits.

Spiritual Renewals

Spiritual renewal happens as a result of endings. Usually, in the midst or endings or the cusps of endings, you can’t see anything good coming from it. Especially, if the ending of something was tumultuous or not what you desired. It can take some time to “see” what can come out of things ending. Endings can be scary for some because it’s the unknown of what’s next that creates uncertainty. Uncertainty can create fear and doubts.

A renewal of connection with spiritual things can happen such as a deeper faith or a stronger conviction in beliefs. Resilience can develop. A new perspective can be gained. These things can lead to a different way of doing things and a different way of seeing yourself! It doesn’t always happen immediately and usually happens over time.

Who can see anything good right away about the death of a loved one, the sudden loss of a job, or the ending of a relationship? It’s rare unless you have a greater spiritual understanding of things. I couldn’t see anything good about the sudden death of my brother last year. But as days went by, I started to see he no longer had to suffer or struggle to stay in this world. I also remembered that it’s not right for me to hold on to someone that is ill and wants to give up or to judge them if they give up on fighting. It’s there right as it is my right. I know what’s best for me and he knew what was best for him. Plus, I felt it was between him and God.

No one immediately sees the benefits of losing a job suddenly. Of course, they should have concerns and worries. It’s natural. But then they find another job, go back to school, or change careers and life goes on. Perhaps, their faith was strengthened or they became resilient during the process of finding another job or reinventing themselves. I never thought I would become ill at 35, go through the disability process for 3 1/2 years, and not be able to work a full-time job. It was the worst time of my life but, I gained so much spiritually and learned about finances, budgeting, and how to enjoy life frugally while still reinventing and reimagining my life as we speak (or as I type). I learned more about myself and grew drastically in numerous ways. It deepened my relationship with God and myself. I am still learning.

None of us will get through this life without endings. It is what we gain from the endings or how we respond that gives us value or perspective. Or maybe, perseverance.

28 Days of The Self Love Project: Day 21 Reading Rainbows

Photo by Cole Keister on Pexels.com

Another thing that can help the heart space is READING a self-help book about what is creating the imbalance or negative emotions in your heart. Somebody out there has gone through what you have been through and survived. They not only survived, they healed, and they thrive. Reading to HELP yourself heal is a way to DEEPEN the self-love you have for yourself because it is a healing the wounds in which love is leaking from.

Is it childhood trauma? There is a book for that.

Is it the divorce you never got over? There is a book for that.

Amazon has a search bar and you can type in exactly what you are looking for.

I love going to Barnes and Noble and you can go to the Self Help section. You can let a book pull you in. Ok, you can be “guided” to a particular book. Ingesting what you are reading gets into your mind, your spirit, your soul and begins to help heal those wounds. I have so many books that have impacted and changed my life for the better. I encourage you, as a way to DEEPEN THE ROOTS OF SELF LOVE, to READ your way to heal the heart.

Some books that helped me in my journey:

One Day My Soul Just Opened Up-Iyanla Vanzant

Something More: Excavating Your Authentic Self -Sarah Ban Breathnach

The Power-Rhonda Byrne

Inspiration- Dr. Wayne Dyer

Just to name a few but, everyone’s journey and needs are different! You have to be willing to be a participant in your own healing. You must be willing to do some searching.

Seek and you will find!

28 Days of The Self Love Project: Day 20 Blank Stares

Prayer and Meditation is another way to balance the energy of the heart or to heal the heart. “I can’t meditate” is a statement I hear often. The very fact one makes this statement is a reason for meditation. The second thing is the language, “I CAN’T”. Change that to I can. If you daydream or drift off to nowhere, you can meditate. Sitting quietly and gazing out the window for one minute, not judging your thoughts, not getting involved in your thoughts, simply letting them come and then refocusing on breath or whatever you are gazing on is meditation. If you can do that for one minute then you have just meditated. There are too many YouTube videos and apps for meditation and even a thing called guided meditation. You can put in time and search for a 3-minute meditation. You can try the app Calm.

Never underestimate the power of prayer. I don’t know your religion and I don’t care much about that. I care if you choose to tap into the power of prayer. Prayer has a calming effect. Prayer can help heal your heart, remove negative emotions, calm you down and if you LISTEN you just may receive solutions. They may not come immediately but, perhaps through dreams or some time that day, week, month. You will get your answer or instructions. Prayer helps soothe the heart. Prayer and action can change the heart.

28 Days of The Self Love Project: Day 16 Soul Music

What do YOU want? Not what your family wants, not what your friends want, not what society wants, not what your religion wants, and not what your significant other or spouse wants. But what do YOU desire for your life? What does your life look like for you?

It’s important to know what you want because how else will you create the life YOU, emphasis on YOU, want to live? Self-love requires satisfying YOUR soul. Is your soul satisfied with the life you are living? Is it satisfied with the job, the environment, with others’ dreams for you? Is it satisfied in the church, temple, or mosque you attend? Is it satisfied with the relationships in your life?

If you don’t live your life according to you and the Creator, how will you ever truly satisfy your soul? I was MAKING myself to attend a church, I was getting very little spiritual nourishment from because I didn’t want to let anyone down. I didn’t want to embarrass my family by going somewhere else. I was feeling guilty. I loved the community it was in. I loved the people there but I wasn’t getting much out of the messages. I was so miserable the night before church and bored out of my mind during certain parts. I was happy to be actively involved with projects but I was sacrificing my soul at certain points of the service. I had outgrown this place.

Why was I feeling guilty? There is nothing wrong with being where your soul feels at peace. I had to learn that. In many religions we are made to feel guilty about not carrying out certain practices and rituals. Was I to be loyal to everyone else and what they wanted for me or was I created to be loyal to MY soul’s desires for my life? Loving yourself deeply means tending to your soul and the desires of your soul. What makes your soul happy? Not your flesh but your SOUL?

Take some time. Block out some time. Get away from everyone. Get you a notebook and pen. Dream. Fantasize. Think about what you would like to do with your life. This is judgement free time so it’s not a time to think about what others want of you. If they would be happy or not. WHAT WOULD YOUR LIFE LOOK LIKE IF YOU WERE LIVING THE WAY YOU DESIRE? What would you be? What would you do with your time? Where would you go? What’s your hairstyle? What’s your hair color? What’s your clothing choice? What kind of jewelry are you wearing? What are your friendships like? What is your significant other like? What does your home look like?

Satisfying your soul by living out your dreams, YOUR dreams, is an ACT of self-love. – Nicole Jackson
