Thrifts, Consignments, and Clearance from a Fashionista

Thrifted shoes and purse

Good Saturday (Rainy and Beautifully Gray here in Memphis, TN) Morning to you! I hope this post finds you well. I thought today would be a great day to share some thrifts, clearance and consignment finds. Enjoy!

I picked up the shoes and purse at a local consignment shop. This was my attire for last Sunday. The top is a Vince Camuto find on clearance and the skirt is from Target. The earrings I found at a yard sale.

The maxi sundresses and hats above and below are from (drum roll please) WAL-MART! The sundresses were $7 each and I have 4 of them. The hats were $5. The swing dresses and shorts were all $5! I bought a few dresses for family and THEY HAVE POCKETS!!!

I stop by this small town Wal-Mart often when I pick my daughter up from school. It’s my secret spot that often have hidden gems.

Last Sunday at my home church with a photo bomb my mask!

Whatever Wednesday: Lost and Found in The New House

I forgot to post yesterday so here is my Whatever Wednesday. You never know what you are going to get when the house you move into is like a box of chocolates. While there were things that were left here for me by the previous owner, that was and is a friend of the family, there were things simply not taken. They didn’t need them and didn’t want them. So here are some of the things I found.

A compact turntable/speaker and stereo with a record player. It actually works! However, the compact turntable/speaker does not work.

Many cooks will agree the glass pots from back in the day are some of the best pots to have. I found dessert dishes and a vintage serving tray that I use daily! I also left was the soup and tray set. It is lovely and I can’t wait to use it.

I also found slides of amazing vacations to places like Morocco, Mexico, all sorts of overseas tours and places here in the United States. There were old photos and letters. I hope to find some family that may want the photos and slides so I boxed them and put them away. I just couldn’t toss those. The mother and sisters that lived here were the best neighbors one could have. Actually, mostly everyone that lived and live on this block are amazing neighbors. I think the two sisters left were actually half sisters. Things are more complicated than I am willing to share and some matters are private and shall remain that way. So, I will keep these photos in hopes to find a family member that want them.

Getting Thrifted Lifted!

Thrifted purse. It doesn’t have a label so I have no idea of the designer but, it is well made!
A very nice Lands’ End Jean Skirt! Oh I see boots and skirt for Fall and Winter!
A pair of Clarke’s. Enough said. And they were on clearance for 50% off.

Who doesn’t like quality and a clearance. Stein-mart is going out of business, sadly due to the pandemic.

Clearance Finds, Thrifts, and Consignments

A few weeks ago I went to TJMAXX after being quarantine in my city, Memphis. We moved into Phase 1. I waited before I went and I chose to go early in the morning on an off day. I had my budget in case I found something and I sure did! Everything with a red sticker came from TJMAXX. The bracelet is handmade and I purchased it at an antique mall that sells other items made by vendors.

And I finally found a yellow dress to match these yellow shoes which I have had for years. I’d pair them with other things but really wanted a yellow dress. I found this at a consignment store for 50% off!. It was $8.

Oh and while at the HUGE antique store, which he had to do one side one day, and come back to finish the other, I found a Southern Living cookbook with some amazing collections of a year’s worth of their best recipes. And I found an Lamborghini! Who knew I’d come home with a new car lol! I’ve always wanted to collect model cars. The doors open, the hood, and the trunk. Pretty cool.

Fashion Finds & Thrifting!

img_20190105_183229

Over the holidays, winter break for my teenager, we decided to do something we do from time to time which is thrift. Well, what a fun day it was for us. Usually, we can spend an hour in one place exploring and searching. We even picked up my Mom for part of the adventure.

As you can see in the photo above, two of my best finds were authentic Louis Vuitton and Dooney & Bourke purses. I could not believe my eyes and I checked to make sure they were the real deal. One of the employees that sort and price the purses showed me another purse and how to determine if it was fake. Both of these were marked for 9.98. As I was looking at other purses, a woman that was shopping saw my purses and told me that I could take them to a shoe shop and they would clean them. They would look new.

I also thrifted two pair of pants for 6.98 each. One made by “The Limited”, a wool and lined pair of trousers, and the other was a pair of Casual Lee Jeans. I purchased a brown cardigan for 4.98.

These two items I got from a consignment store. Kenneth Cole Reaction shoes for $20 and Corduroy Jacket in plum made by Talbots for half price at $12 and a Nine West Purse not pictured (because my Mom borrowed already!) for $18.

The week of Christmas I went to Target and found cardigans on clearance for half price.

Well, as you can see, I like to thrift and I like shopping clearance or consignment stores. I love fashion, but I also have limited funds. I try to look my best on a budget.

Here is a thrift find for 9.98! It was is excellent condition and with a lining. A lining makes all the difference! I have boots this color and I think they will look great with this jacket.

And a Sojour skirt for 8.99 I found at a consignment shop

I am certain I will get much wear out of these to items for a long time. I seem to never have enough skirts! I don’t know what happens to them. I think I need to invest in a few good quality and basic ones.

Fashion Confetti: Thrifting Gap

IMG_20170419_180916

Very cute dress with pockets! I like a dress or skirt with pockets. I found this summary dress made by the Gap at a thrift store. They were having a 50% of everything sale. I paid $4.50 for this little dress and I plan to take it on vacation. I hope I can find some gold sandals and maybe accessorize it with gold jewelry or tone it down with brown sandals and brown/bronze jewelry? Who knows we will see and I will show you when I do wear it.

Fashion Confetti: Versatile Styles w/my New Leather Shrug Jacket

Here is the consignment jacket mixed with two dresses and some Vince Camuto outlet heels. I thought I would never be able to wear them again after I had surgery on my foot. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and I no longer wear heels as often or as high. Plus it all depends on how the shoe is made.

ANY…WHO…I have always been a stylish chic and I will continue to do so making changes along the way. The jacket is the amazing deal I found for 14.99 with an original value of 219.00. You can see details on my blog under the Fashion Confetti tab. The red dress i from TJ MAXX around $20 and the black dress was definitely a clearance item. It’s mostly how I shop.

Fashion Confetti: Consignment Find

I felt the the jacket and thought to myself…”Oh….this is so soft.” I tried it on and it felt sooooo good and was a perfect fit. I purchased this at a consignment shop for 14.99. I had $10 off the 24.99 price tag. When I got home I searched Jessica London, the designer/label and found the jacket is called a leather shrug jacket. It retails at 219.00 and was on sale this week for 149. 00. Can you say this was a steal!!!! By the way…there are some really great deals on the website.
