I am a woman, I am African American, I am all of the above. I consider myself a micro business owner. My business, theconfettishopbynikki.com is ran by myself and heavily assisted by my daughter and others. I have really bad brain fog, rheumatoid arthritis dis-ease, and other ailments at my young age. SO, I CONSIDER IT A BLESSING TO BE ABLE TO CREATE THE THINGS I DO.

Thrifted purse. It doesn’t have a label so I have no idea of the designer but, it is well made!
A very nice Lands’ End Jean Skirt! Oh I see boots and skirt for Fall and Winter!A pair of Clarke’s. Enough said. And they were on clearance for 50% off.
Purse from a consignment shop. I think it was $10. It was a 50% sale.
Who doesn’t like quality and a clearance. Stein-mart is going out of business, sadly due to the pandemic.
I have three friends that have birthdays in the month of January and they are all back to back. I had to prepare myself for three events mentally, physically, and FASHIONABLY!
Plus, there was a concert I had tickets to that Sunday. Just know that everything I wore was an item I purchased at a reasonable price, thrifted, or on clearance! I already had these items in my closet.

I needed all of this week to recover! And today is the first day I woke up with minimum pain. I had a flare up this week. Three days of restlessness due to pain-somnia (insomnia) due to pain, anxiety, and yesterday depression. Whew! Yet…joy came this morning.
What could be better than getting an awesome deal on a condo on the beach? Well, saving more money by shopping at a local thrift store! I saw it on the way to our beach condo and I knew I was coming back before I left. I am glad I did!
The name of the thrift store is Island Thrift. Very, very friendly staff. A clean store and the best part was it’s inclusive of plus size girls like me! I found clothing, jewelry, and some sort of huge wooden, palm structure that barely fit into my brother’s SUV. Needless to say he was puzzled when I returned his vehicle but, he also knows I like odd things! And never question a woman’s purchase. She has a plan for whatever she bought somewhere down the line lol!
I also got tanks tops and a necklace made of wood. Yes, I had an armload of items and I would have gotten more! My cousin also left with an armful of items. She’s a thrifter, too and we were both floating on a shopper’s high as we left. I will blog the items when I wear them soon. I have already worn the red striped sundress and it fit perfectly!
Classic Nine West Boots I’ve had for over 15 years. I purchased these and a black pair during a clearance at DSW with mom. Yes it was that long ago. No I am not that old lol! These cognac colored boots are always a conversation piece and are always complimented. I thought I would not be able to wear them after a surgery on my foot due to RA and Osteoarthritis. I am still able to wear these more comfortably than before. They are not as high as my other heels.
I was torn between the scarf and the necklace. I made it work! The slacks are a grey pinstripe (silver stripes). This was literally put together because I did not have anything to go with the pants. I didn’t have a button down or a sweater to pare with it because I had gotten rid of the sweater I normally wear with it. Which reminds, I need to build on sweaters, shirts, and blouses.
So here I wanted to be comfortable for an evening of hanging outside with friends. It is fall and the weather will be cooler as night creeps in. I put my white T-shirt, with a white jean jacket (since I don’t abide my the after Labor Day Rule of no white…some rules are meant to be broken!) from Jones New York Outlet for $27 in 2015. I paired them with jeans, my “chucks” or Converse (which were an $80 pair of shoes I got from Urban Outfitters on clearance for $30 a few years ago). My coach purse is from the Coach Outlet as well! Every thing in this photo was on sale, marked down or clearance.
I wanted to show how you how I shopped my closet and made another outfit by removing pieces and adding pieces.
Same pair of jeans and white T-shirt, but I removed the jean jacket and added a black knit sweater and wedged ankle boots. Easy! A casual date night outfit or out with friends and family to dinner. And yes…the Aerosoles shoes were on sale. (Very comfy for those of us with RA and Fibromyalgia).

GooGoo Atkins Host of WeTV’s GooRU Style WebSeries and host for the night
This is one of my favorite fashion shows in Memphis and if you are “Curvy” you should make your way to Memphis, TN around this time to catch it. I highly recommend the VIP tickets because it was well worth it. The reception, the photo ops, the food! Ashley Dean does a phenomenal job (always has), of putting this show together. Every thing was on point. The host this year was none other than GooGoo Atkins! She was amazing, live, full of fabulous-ness and down to earth! That is what I love the most…down to earth!

Nikki’s Confetti Weekend would not be complete if I didn’t tell you about the urban hip hop fashion show of iHustle Clothing Co. iHustle was formed in 2012 and with their forward innovative thinking, affordable quality clothes, they are steadily gaining recognition in the industry. It was a packed house and I believe they will need more room next year. I love fashion and I am not stuck in one style, as you may have well guessed by now! I can hit the club or the streets with this fashion. Shout out to Dionisia Redmond, PR and Talent Director of iHustle.  She made my night comfortable with VIP Treatment. Now on with the fashion! There were so many photos I had to create a slide show and choose the best shots. I wanted to show the diversity of iHustle and what some label strictly as urban wear. Below you will find a few of my personal pics and favorite moments from the show. There were so many models I didn’t get! And so many pieces I liked!
